Happy Thanksgiving

Colossians 2: 6-9
As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

Luke 17: 11-19
Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.
So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

Psalm 100
1 Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands!
2 Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
3 Know that the LORD, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;[a]
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 For the LORD is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.

How else can you respond to what Christ has done for us than to thank and praise him? Once we recognize Christ's gift and its greatness, we need to recognize how unworthy we are. Do we not deserve the wrath of God upon us?
Therefore, our thanksgiving should not simply be a glad heart and warm feelings of appreciation. How ungrateful of us to have only these shallow thoughts toward God's greatest gift! Biblical thanksgiving must come from the heart, thanking God for how deep his love is toward us, in that he would save us from our sins!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Psalm 9: 1-2
1I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart;
I will tell of all Your wonders.
2I will be glad and exult in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.

Amen. We serve a great, great God who has lavished upon us countless undeserved blessings. How can we not praise Him continually?

Thanks for the encouragement.

I didn't know you were blogging again. Charity just showed me your new blog. Very nice.
Happy Thanksgiving to you to
We often don't take the time to thank God for all the good things he has done for us.
Hope you are well Nathan

I'm pretty sure I've never red this blog. That was a good post.. Dad preached a really good sermon on 1 Thessalonians 5:18;
Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

It was very good. And then we had our American Thanksgiving lunch (which all the Ossie's thought was weird, but we told them what to bring- we did it last year- and it turned out really well!).

But, i must say, we are not nearly as Thankful people as we should be. I mean, come on! We've got so much going for us.. yet we still complain first probable 60% or 70%, before we actually think to give thanks.
Anyways, good post. And i like your blog. God bless. Hope this receives you well.
